Proposed Logo Rationale
2006 marks not only the 41st year of Singapore's independence, but also her pivitol first year in her remaking. The crescent moon and the five stars bear familiarity to all Singaporeans being the elements of the National flag, each star maintaining its representation of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.

The elements are laid out in a three dimentional track, symbolising the route towards the future which, seemingly distant, has already been mapped out to be reached, hence the tagline, "The Future is Ours!"

Originally representing a young nation on the ascendant, the crescent moon is laid on the lower left hand corner of the logo below the stars, symbolising the firm foundations that the nation has laid over the past 40 years for her maturity. It is through these foundations that Singapore continues to build upon for her remaking.

Each of the element contains varied but continuous strokes, symbolising the unity in Singapore's diversity. The red within the elements represents the quality of universal brotherhood that Singapore continues to exude in this era of globalization. The black used for the strokes and tagline symbolises the strength, firmness and boldness for the nation to have the future set in place.

The simple handwritten strokes signify that at the back of the nation's remaking lies a human being, a Singaporean - you and me.
